Gases firefighting systems

                     Gaseous fire suppression
 * Gases fire suppression is a term used to describe the use of inert gases and chemical agesnts to extinguish fires , also known as clean agent fire suppression systems. These gaseous mixtures leave no residue behind and are designed to protect enclosures where there is a need for quick reaction to extinguishing a fire .     * These clean agents are governed by the NFPA Standard for clean agenst fire extinguishing systems. Approval listing include UL, ULC, FM SABS nd MEA. Gases we use include FM200, Novec, CO2, INERGEN, Pyro shield, Pro-Inert and Aragonite. The most common uses for gas fire suppression systems are in server and computer rooms, MCC cabinets, Museums, Libraries, Art galleries , Archives, Documents stores, and Medical and Pharmaceutical applications.

Carbon Dioxide ( CO2 ) fire suppression systems

       Introduction :

u  Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is an excellent fire suppressing agent. It has been used in the fire protection industry for many years, and is listed under NFPA-12 Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishing Systems.

u  CO2 is used for a variety of systems; including total flooding, local application .

u  CO2 extinguishes a fire by removing the oxygen from the surrounding area .

u  CO2 is a colorless, odorless, electrically non-conductive gas that is highly efficient as a fire suppression agent.

u  Types of ( CO2 ) Fire Systems :

  1.         High pressure carbon dioxide ( HPCO2 ) .
  2.          Low pressure carbon dioxide ( LPCO2 ) .

        Applications :

       Liquid storage areas

       Quench tanks

       Mixing operations

       Spray booths

       Turbine-driven generators

       Electrical areas

       Dust collectors

       Engine rooms

FM-200 Fire Suppression System

Introduction :

u  FM-200 ( HFC 227 EA ) is Fire Suppression clean agent that high effective agent to suppress fire in 10 seconds or less , it is listed in NFPA-2001 as clean agent .

u  The extinguishing mechanism of FM-200® is heat absorption.

u  FM-200 is a clean, colorless, and environmentally friendly fire suppression agent that is electrically non-conductive and safe for humans .

u  FM-200 (HFC-227ea) fire extinguishing agent  which has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP).

FM-200 storage in a cylinder at high pressure by using nitrogen as an assistant to increase its pressure

Applications :

 Control Rooms

 Flammable Liquid Storage

 Transformer and Switch Rooms
